About the Dog Heat Cycle and Breeding
Although it may seem like dogs can turn up pregnant in the wink of an eye, it's actually a fairly complicated process. Just ask any breeder who has repeatedly tried and failed to produce a litter from her champion bitch; sometimes things just don't go according to plan.
On average, a healthy bitch comes into season every six months. However, this can vary, and some bitches only cycle once a year while others come into season on a quarterly basis. Quite often, bitches that come in quarterly are not fertile every season http://dogs.lovetoknow.com/wiki/Dog_Heat_Cycle_and_Breeding

We were one of the first breeders to have Shepadoodles.

The combination of the two breeds, (a purebred German Shepherd Dog and a purebred Standard Poodle)  gives you a puppy  that is fun-loving, extremely smart and loyal - Plus minimal or no doggy odor. Many of the puppies shed minimally, although these puppies are not guaranteed not to shed...  A bonus to this is the fact that they are less pro to health problems!  Many breed specific illnesses are avoided. This is called "hybrid vigor."  The list of poodle mixes seem to be endless and you can find information on these at: Poodle Mixes

What is a Shepadoodle? A cross between a purebred German Shepherd Dog and a purebred Standard Poodle.

The Shepadoodle tends to be more like a Shepherd than a Poodle.

Shepadoodles are a medium sized dog weighing about 50 pounds. We do not have huge German Shepherds because we do not breed huge Shepadoodles.

They are very smart and loyal, and are one of our favorite breeds.

The shepadoodle doesn't shed like a shepherd because of the influence of the poodle. You will have to brush the dog and will get dander and hair in the brush.

Shepadoodles are very loyal and want to spend time with their family. They make wonderful outdoor companions: energetic and athletic.

They are also calm, intelligent indoor companions. Wonderful for children; they have a warm, loving nature. A big bark but friendly and outgoing.
They are very smart and learn very quickly.

What will our Shepadoodles be like?

Let me tell you about the parents:  "Twinkie" is our newest  German Shepherd Dam. She is going to be a large dog as her parents are. She is a white German Shepherd.  She is very intelligent and learns very quickly. She is a good watch dog, but not a guard dog. Which means she tells us if someone is coming up the driveway, but she is not intimidating and greets everyone with a tail wag.
Earl is our chocolate poodle. He is quick to learn and loves to please. He has a protective nature and is our other watch dog!

Duchess is our dam. She is almost totally black. She has a very sweet personality and she and Duke have so much fun together. She is very calm and a people pleaser.

Duke, our sire, is a cream standard poodle. He is probably one of the smartest poodles we have had. And his personality is the absolute best. He is a sweet, calm and gentle poodle. And he has been from the time he was young.

This is a picture of Duke with the dachshunds guarding the piglet... before the clippers!

We do not guarantee that the Shepadoodle will be able to live with people with allergies. Please, before you buy, spend some time with a poodle or labradoodle to see if you are allergic to the dander or saliva of the dog. We do not want to place a puppy with a family only to have it brought back or taken to a shelter  because of someone's allergies. You need to be sure and research this thoroughly before you bring the puppy home. We will gladly take the puppy back to keep it from going to a shelter - However, we will not refund any money.
